Dennis Murphy is the CEO and Owner of Hayden Homes. Mr. Murphy has over 25 years of experience in construction, engineering and development of which the last 20 years he has spent as the President and CEO of Hayden Homes. He helped create Hayden Homes, a company dedicated to building high-quality residential communities throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana. Hayden Homes has been voted the #1 place to work for several of the past years.
Mr. Murphy also owns and operates other businesses including wineries with powerful brand awareness like Caprio Cellars, Pepper Bridge and Amavi Cellars. The winery operations are located in Walla Walla, Washington a region well on the way to producing world-class wines.
Mr. Murphy has been active in various professional and charitable organizations. He is an Independent Director on the Board of Directors for Washington Trust Bank. Additionally, he is a member and past Chairman of both the Oregon Evergreen Chapter and Idaho Chapters of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), a valuable resource for professional development, continuing education and idea exchange. Additionally, Mr. Murphy is a Governor on the Board of Governors for the California State University, Chico.
Mr. Murphy is also a volunteer with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters organization, with roles as a Big Brother since 2003 and Chairman of the Board from 2003 to 2008. In addition, he is a Board Member with First Story, a nonprofit organization founded by Hayden Homes that provides grants and houses for families in need. Since inception, First Story has dedicated 100 homes to families in the Northwest and has accumulated over $18 million in assets to make a difference in the world.
Mr. Murphy is an alumnus of the Civil Engineering program at California State University, Chico and Harvard Business School where he has been recognized as the “Alumni of the Year” for the Civil Engineering program in 2004 and the “Alumni of the Year” for the entire university in 2006. In 2018 Mr. Murphy was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters by CSU Chico.
