Prior to joining MindUP, Melissa served for ten years as the Vice President of Practice, Innovations, and Partnerships at the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL). In this role, she led CASEL’s efforts to advance new initiatives and collaborations that promote understanding and implementation of systemic Social and Emotional Learning. Melissa has also served as an executive at education publishers including ScholarCentric and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt where she led innovation and growth through strategic partnerships. Melissa started her career as an educator in Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia and resides with her husband and teenage twins in the Chicagoland area.
